What to do if your child tests positive...

Do not panic or blame yourself.

Stay calm and be a parent.

It does not mean that your child is bad - drug addiction is a treatable disease.

Talk to your child. Try to understand why your child used drugs. Try to gather inofrmation about the frequency of usage.

Make sure your child understands the long-term damage made by drugs.

Buy another drug tester and make sure your child knows that you will use it from time to time.

If your child is showing signs of heavy usage of drugs, you need some support. Call help lines, Doctors, local hospitals, or a local substance abuse agency.

Make sure your child knows that you are "on their side".
